Consistently recognized by Inland Empire Magazine as one of the area’s Top Doctors, Dr. Spivack specializes in General Surgery and Oncologic Surgery. He has been with Upland Surgeons since 1995, performing laparoscopic and invasive procedures using the latest surgical techniques and cutting edge technology. He was the first surgeon in the area to perform the sentinel lymph node biopsy for breast cancer, which is now the standard of care. His use of Lapraroscopic Nissen Fundoplication for severe reflux and minimally invasive techniques for Hemorrhoidectomy provide quick relief for often debilitating and painful conditions.

As an oncologic surgeon, Dr. Spivack understands the challenges cancer patients face and works closely with medical and radiation oncologists to assure his patients receive integrated management of their illness.

Dr. Spivack believes it is important for his patients to be well informed and takes the time to thoroughly explain diagnosis and treatment options. Whether performing an appendectomy or complicated cancer surgery, Dr. Spivack’s goal is to achieve the best possible surgical outcome so his patients can get back to the business of living.

His expertise in breast cancer, melanoma and use of skin sparing techniques is widely respected. He keeps current on the latest research and treatment advances in Breast cancer and has participated in national cancer clinical trials. He maintains close professional ties with respected colleagues at major Cancer treatment institutions and has served in leadership positions at San Antonio Regional Hospital as a member of the medical executive committee. Currently, he co-manages the hospital’s weekly tumor board and provides oversight to the Nutritional Support Team.
